Established in 2009, the California Teacher Corps is a membership organization that represents the state’s more than 70 alternative certification programs. Helping to increase the pool of talented, committed and diverse teachers in California’s public schools, our goal is to place 100,000 highly-qualified teachers in California communities by 2020. We provide a unified voice for alternative certification programs, effectively and proactively address teacher preparation issues facing California and recruit the best

and brightest professionals to teach in the public schools that need them the most. Our membership trains second-career teachers, and others committed to working in hard-to-staff schools, who have deep subject-area expertise and who are dedicated to the teaching profession.
